Listed is a 1980 Limited Edition MGB that has been totally restored from the ground-up. This car was in very nice original condition before disassembly. Vehicle is equipped with an overdrive transmission. A fully documented invoice of the restoration as well as well as a picture CD will be provided to the new owner.
Mechanically the engine, transmission, differential assembly were all completely disassembled and rebuilt. The engine was bored 0.040 with use of 8.8:1 pistons resulting in a 9.1:1 overall compression ratio. Camshaft is new as well as lifters, oil pump, bearings, valves, springs, seals and gaskets are all new and documented in the invoice. Front suspension pieces are mainly new with the center cross member powder painted as well as the suspension pieces, new as well. Springs are new front and back with the car being slightly lower then stock but still maintaining appropriate clearance and retaining a very nice, smooth ride and drive. 98% of the hardware including nuts, bolts, nylocs, and washers, are all new and either grade 5 or 8.
All hydraulic brake cylinders and clutch cylinders are new. Front calipers are rebuilt. Rotors, front and rear wheel bearings, pads, clips, springs, shoes, Brake hoses, and retainers are new. All brake lines are STEEL and new....not copper! Clutch cylinders and fittings are new as well.
Interior wise all panels, seat covers and cushions, carpet, and trim, are new and original. Convertible top is new and is the "Mercedes" style cloth material giving a very rich look. Trunk has been finished with a fitted carpet kit. Spare is the original tire and wheel.
The body has been completely disassembled, media blasted, and placed on a rotisserie for a complete body restoration. Car was finished with a two-step basecoat/clear coat, micro sanded, and finished buffed, giving a very deep and hard finish.
There are a few extra's that would improve the performance and highlight the looks. The Intake and exhaust has been switched to a pair of Twin 1 1/2" HIF SU's. Exhaust has been changed to a dyno tuned and matched LCB header and single box 1 7/8" diameter exhaust for a very deep and pleasing tone as well as a definite increase in power and torque. The engine compartment has been detailed with new lines, cables, grommets, and air cleaners for a nice show effect.
Exterior wise, a factory style luggage-rack, limited edition side stripes, and limited edition air damn are all included. Factory style wheels have been reconditioned with the outer rims and inner ribs polished to a high gloss for a very rich and show effect. All windows are new including the correct, new Tri XXX windshield.
In closing, you will not find a nicer looking, nicer driving MGB. the car is rattle free and handles better then new with old school performance. A fully documented 35-40 page invoice will be included as well as a picture CD of the restoration in progress. Thank you for your time and good luck bidding.
