Vehicle Overview
You are bidding on a 1925 Renault MT. The chassis number from the right front frame is MT 12059. The engine number is 31329 and the dash placard states #177746. The car has a CT registration decal on its windshield (#364927) dated 1940. The history of the car was given to me by the previous owner and most of the details were verified by research in local historical societies and by discussions with others at car shows. The car was shipped to the U.S. in the late 1920's to the estate of a family in Lakeville, CT who also had an estate in France and wanted the car for driving around the countryside here. The family was somehow involved with silver production here in the U.S. The car at some point was donated to a car museum in Southington, CT and remained there until the museum closed in the 1970's. It has been cared fr all of its life. At some time it looks to have had a motor rebuilt and electrical wiring update. It runs perfect and blows no smoke. it shifts through the gears fine. It has a brand new set of very expensive tires and tubes. The parts that make up this car show the quality and expense this car is and was. The dash is like jewelry. Most of the metal on the car is brass. The rear bumper even have inpact shock on them. Quite a techno feat for a 1925 car. The top is excelent. The wood trim is very good. The paint is excellent as well. The mohair seat show a little age. They are easily recovered as they remove with ease. This is a little jewel of a car that is very rare.
